What we keep and where it lives.
Effective October 10, 2026
Earshot is made by High5 Labs. This policy covers the Earshot app for iPhone and the account service at earshot.fm.
On your phone
Without an account, everything stays on the phone: your library, your downloads, your playback positions, your per-show settings, and the transcripts the app makes on the device. None of it is sent to us.
With an account
An account exists so your listening can follow you between devices. When you sign in, our server keeps your email address and a hash of your password, the shows you subscribe to, your playback positions, your Up Next, your played, starred and archived marks, and your per-show settings. That is what syncs, and it is the whole list.
Server transcripts
With Earshot Plus, episodes are transcribed once on our server from the show's own audio and the words are served to every listener of that show. A server transcript is made from the podcast, not from you: it holds no listener data, and the audio is deleted once the transcript exists.
Podcast feeds
To find new episodes, the app and our server fetch the public feeds you subscribe to. Publishers and their hosting providers see those fetches the way they see any podcast app's; they receive nothing about you personally.
Purchases
Earshot Plus is sold by Apple through the App Store. Apple handles the payment, the receipt and the refund; we receive a confirmation that a subscription is active and never see your card.
We send email for one reason at a time: a password reset you asked for, or a notice about your account. Messages go out through Resend, our email provider. There is no newsletter and no marketing list.
What we do not do
No advertising identifiers, no third-party analytics, no tracking pixels, and no sale or sharing of your data. Earshot shows no ads of its own in any tier, so there is no advertising machinery to feed.
Deleting your account
Delete it yourself in the app, under You, or on the web at earshot.fm/you. Everything the account holds goes with it. If you would rather we do it, write to support@earshot.fm from the address on the account.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, the date at the top changes with it.
